We all get lazy about taking care of our car or getting it checked often unless a problem comes up. This
costs us way more than it would’ve if we would’ve checked everything else earlier. These are 5 easy tips
to do to take care of your car for your car to run smoothly for a longer period of time.

1. Check the Battery

A battery is an essential part of the car and obviously the car stops working if the battery fails to ensuring
that the battery is in good condition is always important. You should check your car battery once or twice
an year at least to check if there is any dry white battery acid.

In case there is, then you should head up to a car supply shop and buy corrosion removal fluid along with
a wire brush to clean it up the acid up on the battery terminals.

If you can’t find any at the moment then use baking soda and water mixture. All the process combined
will max take you about 20 minutes which is nothing in comparison to the amount of money you’ll waste if
your battery gets ruined.

2. Change Windshield Wiper Blades

This is one of the most important tip when it comes to taking care of your car and yourself. A windshield
wiper blade removes rain or snow or dirt from your car windshield when driving. Now if the wiper blades
aren’t working efficiently, it can cause you great harm if you can’t see clearly on the road ahead of you.
Thus, it is very important to replace worn out wiper blades.

Windshield wiper blades that need to be changed will leave streaks on the windshield or making a
squeaking noise. Once this starts happening, then its time for you to change them.

You should change or replace your wiper blades at least every one year if not before. This task isn’t
difficult and can be done by yourself. Just read the instructions on the manual and you’re good to go.

Always keep an extra pair in your trunk in case of emergency. This whole process only takes 15 minutes
maximum which is better than risking your life.

3. Change the Engine Air Filter

A dirty air filter will stop air flow in your car engine, this can affect the gas mileage as it will put extra
strain on the engine. This can slow the acceleration rate of your car too.

If you travel a lot on unpaved roads or in heavy traffic then you will have to get your air filter changed
faster.

The frequency rate at which you have to get it change depends widely on the car company and the car
of course.

A dirty air filter looks grey or black so you’ll easily be able to tell if it has to be changed. This also only
takes 10 minutes to do.

4. Wax your Vehicle

Along with washing your car you also need to wax it at least once or twice a year depending on the wax
you use.

Waxing helps you protect the exterior of the car by protecting the cars clear coat and paint.

The way to check whether your car needs to get waxed or not is by putting a litte water on it, if the water
beads up then you don’t need to otherwise you do.

Cleaner car actually gives you better fuel efficiency.

5. Check your Tyre Pressure

You should check your car tire pressure manually every now and then especially before going on a long
road trip. If your tire has less pressure then it can lower your fuel economy and also damage your car tire
as there will be overheating soon.

The car tire pressure should always be up to the mark, not below and not above as over-inflating also
creates issues. This only takes roundabout 2 minutes.
Do all these tips to make sure your car runs smoothly.
