A car service is a routinely check up of your car which assesses all components of your car from the engine to the breaks etc. This is usually done by taking your car to a mechanic and asking him to assess your car.

will only include tyre pressure etc. But if its a full service then it could include filter change or engine oil
etc.
An even more thorough service would go into more depths of smaller components like the change of
important filters or wheel alignment and suspension etc.
There are many different types of services that you could choose from, for eg the regular maintenance
which is done when oil and filter is needed to be changed. Then there is an interim service done every 6
months, then like mentioned above the full service which is done once an year ( this can cost you
roundabout £140) and if your car requires a manufacturer service then that according to the car
manufacturer service schedule.
You should atleast get your car serviced once a year or every 12000 miles. This will also depends on
how you drive and how much you drive.

Sometimes getting a car service can seem out of budget and you might be thinking of doing a self
service for your car. If you know what you’re doing, then doing a basic car service by yourself isn’t that
difficult but when it comes to a more detailed car service then doing it yourself can be putting your car at
risk as well as yourself when you later drive it. It is recommended that you opt for a professional when it
comes to your car so that your car is maintained properly. It is also very important that though own the
right set of tools to be doing it correctly. Some of the things that could be required are funnel, oil filter
removal extra.
